Medical dermatology focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of skin, hair, and nail conditions — including both acute concerns and long-term issues like acne, eczema, rashes, psoriasis, and suspicious moles. At DermDirect, our medical dermatology services are part of the same affordable, transparent care model our patients already trust.

DermDirect provides medical care, not elective aesthetic services.

Medical dermatology at DermDirect is designed to evaluate and treat health concerns — from acne and rashes to skin cancer screenings — with a focus on evidence-based care and accessible pricing.

Med spas, in contrast, typically offer cosmetic procedures such as Botox, fillers, laser treatments, or facials — often for appearance-enhancement purposes, and not for diagnosing or managing health conditions.

DermDirect is a direct pay clinic, meaning you’ll always know the cost upfront — no insurance required, no surprise bills later. Most medical dermatology visits are priced the same as our standard provider visits, and procedures (such as biopsies or lesion removal) have clear, published prices.

You will receive a copy of your receipt of payment at the time of your visit, which you are welcome to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

No referral is needed. You can schedule directly with our medical dermatology team for any skin concern — whether it’s a rash, mole, ongoing breakout, or something new that you’re not sure about.

Yes. Our team offers full-body skin exams and targeted evaluations of moles or lesions that have changed in size, color, or shape. Biopsies can often be performed during the same visit if medically indicated.
Yes. If your condition requires medication, we can prescribe both topical and oral treatments and help you access the most cost-effective option — including generic or pharmacy discount programs when applicable.
No. DermDirect’s focus is on medical dermatology — treating health-related skin issues, not elective or cosmetic procedures. We do not offer Botox, fillers, cosmetic lasers, chemical peels, body sculpting, lip fillers, or other spa services.

No. DermDirect medical dermatology services are not included in or billed under employer-sponsored healthcare agreements. These services are offered on a direct pay, fee-for-service basis and are separate from your employer-covered care.

If you’re unsure whether your concern is best addressed through primary care or medical dermatology, our team is happy to help guide you before scheduling.
